WARFRAME DEADLOCK PROTOCOL WALKTHROUGH UPDATE
Update 33.6: Echoes of Duviri + Wisp Prime.By keeping your max shields low and playing so that you only infrequently get hit, you can force almost every attack to trigger shield gating, which in turn gives you some time to GTFO when things go wrong.

The same mechanic applies to companions, archwings, necramechs, and railjacks (though railjacks get 3 seconds of invulnerability instead of only 1.3)Įnemies have a similar mechanic, but it only lasts 0.1 seconds, reduces damage by 95% instead of granting invulnerability, and can be bypassed by targeting weak points (for example, making headshots).Īt high-levels, effectively abusing this mechanic is crucial to staying alive in any frame that is not inherently tanky (and makes staying alive easier for frames that are inherently tanky).

You get the full duration if your shield was fully charged since it last broke, or only 0.33 seconds if it had not yet fully recharged since it last broke. In short, when your shield breaks, you get up to 1.3 seconds of invulnerability (which includes blocking any excess damage beyond the amount that was needed to break your shield).

Just getting the normal versions of those four mods will give you a lot of flexibility in terms of improving your frame.Īs for shield gating, it’s a game mechanic designed to make it less likely that you will get one-shotted by anything. The fourth (Continuity) has a roughly 8% chance of being the C rotation (every fourth set of waves) on the regular (not dark sector) defense missions on all the planets up to Ceres, and a roughly 1.01% drop rate from Sargas Ruk on Saturn. Three of the four (Intensify, Streamline, and Stretch) can be obtained from the lowest-level Cetus bounties (and a number of other missions and enemy drops, Cetus bounties are just the easiest way to actually get them due to how the drop tables work). The four core ability stat mods are sufficient as a starting point for modding for abilities. If you have literally nothing else, it’s worth running because it makes it easier to abuse shield gating, but otherwise you’re usually better off modding for improving your abilities (as someone else commented, you don’t need shields or defensive stats if you kill everything before it can hit you (or, alternatively ‘if you don’t get hit’)).

If you really want something like it, just use a melee slam attack (face the ground while in midair and hit your quick-melee key/button, or do the same with the heavy melee key/button while your melee weapon is out), you’ll find it has a much bigger effect than Heavy Impact does.įast Deflection is a case of a mod that is simply outclassed by many other options, especially once you get into late-game builds where you will often be using two, or three, or sometimes even four mods to focus on maximizing just one stat. The benefit from running Heavy Impact is negligible in most practical gameplay compared to any number of other things you can put in that same slot.
